Attributes: Asclepias is deer resistant, pollinator and songbird friendly and the host plant for the Monarch butterfly. A. incarnata is less vigorous than A. syriaca and has done well in my meadow that is a little less moist, so if you have a spot that gets full sun for less than ~6 hours a day and is a little drier you may want to give this a try. Typicaly, this plant is associate with consistently moist soils and is happy with temporary inundation making it well suited for rain garden setting. Slowly spreads rhizamtously to form a colony.
